Abigail is a designer, pattern cutter and dressmaker specialising in bridal dresses, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, prom and formal dresses, as well as handcrafted veils and offering an extensive alterations and dressing service.

A passion of hers is flattering lines in pattern cutting and contemporary fabrics.


All dresses are pattern cut from scratch, making your design possibilities endless. Abi has a huge range of exquisite European silks and laces for you to choose from to suit a spectrum of budgets. Abigail Westrup Bridal's dressing suite serves the Bristol and Somerset area although brides travel from across the country to work with her.

Abigail has a BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Design as well as a wealth of experience in the fashion and bridal industry and has won several awards including Young Designer of the Year 2007, Bridal dressmaker of the year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the Bristol and Somerset Wedding awards.



Kayla graduated from Wimbledon University of Arts with a BA (Hons) degree in costume interpretation. She has been a part of the team full time since early 2019.

Before joining us she has experience as a seamstress for Ted Baker, Fleur of England Lingerie and Jenny Packham bridal.



Dee graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (hons) degree in fashion design.

Joining the team in early 2020 she has experience assisting with the creation of outfits for Julien Mac Donald’s S/S 19 London fashion week catwalk, as well as regular work as a dresser/fitter for numerous catwalk shows.

Alongside this, Dee has worked as a seamstress for KEA activewear.

At AWB, we work as a very close team in our sewing studio and alterations suite in Portishead.

Abigail and the team are all experienced in the fittings process and all aspects of seamstress work so whoever your appointment is with, you will be thrilled with the results!
