About AWB
At AWB we work as a very close team from our alterations suite and Bridal Atelier in Bristol, Glasgow and Warwick.
Abigail and the team are all experienced in the fittings process and along with the several in house freelance seamstresses are all highly skilled in all areas of sewing and construction work, so whoever your appointment is with you will be thrilled with the results!
During 2022, our seamstress Dee filmed the 2023 series of the hit TLC show Say Yes to the Dress alongside celebrity Tan France. This was a really exciting opportunity to show brides how important the alterations stage of purchasing a wedding dress is.
In 2023, Abi and Jade worked on the alterations on two dresses for a bride featured on the Channel 4 tv show Married at First Sight, they also created two stunning bespoke dresses for the bride, which will be worn at the end of the series.
Abi
Abi set up AWB in 2010 after moving back to the Bristol area from her design job in London. Setting up the business from her parents spare bedroom. The business has grown over the years into one of the most recommended bridal alterations/ dressmaking businesses across the south west, also winning numerous awards. Over the years the premises and team have grown, now having a beautiful fittings suite and atelier on Portishead High Street (Bristol) and Finnieston (Glasgow) - a beautiful sewing workshop where all the technical side of the business happens, situated just along from the fittings suite.
Abi’s sewing passions lie with bespoke changes, such as adding sleeves, splits and beadwork-also being partial to a super satisfying hem.
Having two little boys, Hugo and Ralph born in 2021 and 2023, Abi loves juggling running the business with mum life. Determined and spontaneous, a massive foodie with a love of holidays, fashion and a Sunday roast at the pub!

Each team member specialises in an area making your AWB journey seamless (pardon the pun!) from start to finish. Whether that is our admin experts who help guide you through the booking process and advise when is best to visit us based on your dresses individual needs, through to bespoke specialists to expertly craft design changes and full bespoke dresses, along with couture level seamstresses who have finely honed their skills their whole careers.
Our friendly, experienced team will ensure you’re in the very best hands in the business and make you feel at home and be your bridal bestie from your first point of contact through to your wedding day, in our luxurious, but relaxed atmosphere!
